CAUGHT ON CAMERA RULES AND GUIDELINES

To enter, click on the online contest photo player to upload your submission. Complete the registration information and enter as often as you like.  No purchase necessary. The submission phase of the contest begins at midnight on the first day of the month and ends on the last day of the month.  Winning photo will be selected by editors based in part on the number of votes your photograph receives from readers.

PRIZES

One winner each month will receive a $100 gift certificate to Bijou French Bistro located at 1205 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037. The winning photo will be published in the La Jolla Light. The announced winner will have their prize mailed to him/her. Winners are responsible for paying all applicable local, state and federal taxes. For tax reporting purposes, winners will be required to provide legal name, address and social security number or forfeit prize. La Jolla Light is not responsible for lost or stolen prizes. All prizes are non-refundable or exchangeable and cash substitutions are not permitted. La Jolla Light makes no warranty with respect to any prize and reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal of greater value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries and votes.

ELIGIBILITY

All contestants must be residents of San Diego County and 16 years of age or older, and must show a valid driver’s license or picture ID. You must complete all contact information to be eligible to win. Employees of the La Jolla Light, UT Community Press or UT San Diego are not eligible. La Jolla Light shall be the sole judge of eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason. Winners agree to allow use of name and photos by La Jolla Light without further compensation.  All entries become the property of La Jolla Light and will not be returned. The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited. In fairness to all, La Lolla Light cannot discuss the contest by phone, mail or in any other way with the contestants. A single contest may be run on multiple platforms, including our website, tablets, smartphones and Facebook. Odds of winning are the same across platforms. Liking our or our partners’ Facebook Pages does not increase chances of winning.

VOTING

One vote is allowed per user per day. If fraudulent activity is detected on any submission, those votes and/or the user(s) and/or the submission(s) will be disqualified. Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided. Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.

OTHER CONDITIONS

La Jolla Light reserves the right to change, modify, or extend contest dates or contest submission requirements if it should be deemed necessary. La Jolla Light reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest at any time. La Jolla Light assumes no responsibility for injury or loss that may arise from participation in the contest. La Jolla Light assumes no responsibility for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. La Jolla Light reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest, in its entirety or in part should virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond La Jolla Light’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the contest. La Jolla Light is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest by any technical or human errors, which may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest. La Jolla Light reserves the right to withdraw the transmission of this contest at any time and award the prize from among eligible entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal. La Jolla Light reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game or website or to be acting in violation of the official rules.
