To enter this contest, go to the "Union-Tribune San Diego's Cutest Kid Contest" contest page website at cutestkid.uniontrib.com. Only registered users are eligible to enter. No purchase necessary. The contest begins at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday May 30, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday July 11, 2010. Photo Entry Phase: One (1) photo entry per child is allowed. Entries made by the same person with different email addresses are not allowed. Voting Phase: One (1) vote is allowed per day per email address.
Abuse of system will result in disqualification of all entries/votes for that person.
By entering this contest, you agree to receive communication from the San Diego Union-Tribune and SignOnSanDiego.com about this contest, including updates, reminders, new features and winner notifications, among other confest information.
Contestants submit their "cutest" photo, which is posted online for people to vote. The top 10 photos with the most votes will advance to the finals, where a panel of judges, which includes sponsor representatives, will determine one grand prize winner from each category.

PRIZES
One (1) grand-prize winner will receive $1,000 gift certificate on July 26, 2010. Prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. Two (2) 2nd-place winners, one from each category, will recieve special photo packages from Bauman Photographers:

Lifestyle Portrait Session Package
(3) Portrait Photography Sessions for the winning child scheduled 4 months apart, (1) DVD slideshow of all of the photos from the portrait sessions. -
3 to 5 years old
Family and Child Lifestyle Portrait Session Package
(2) Child Portrait Photography Sessions for the winning child during the duration of a year scheduled 6 months apart, (1) Family Portrait Session, (1) DVD slideshow of all of the photos from the portrait sessions
If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, the Union-Tribune and SignOn San Diego reserve the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner's prize, in its sole discretion. Prizes will be available on July 26, 2010. In the event of a tie, the Union-Tribune and SignOn San Diego will determine the final grand-prize recipient, in its sole discretion. To be eligible to win the grand prize, participant must submit their cutest kid picture within the posting period and be voted from public among the first 10 nominees. Contestants can use social media and other personal tools to increase public votes to increase chances of advancing to the finals. Grand and second-place winners will be notified via email on July 26, 2010. Grand-prize winner must claim prize at The Union-Tribune is located at 350 Camino de la Reina, San Diego, CA, 92108. Prize pick-up hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The second-place winners can redeem prizes by calling to schedule an appointment for portrait sessions. Appointments should be scheduled within a year from winning the prize package. Appointments are scheduled based on availability. Winners are responsible for paying all applicable local, state and federal taxes, and all necessary licensing and insurance costs and/or arrangements. For tax reporting purposes, winner will be required to provide legal name, address and social security number or forfeit prize. Winner will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. The winner must sign a release, releasing the Union-Tribune and SignOn San Diego, its dealers, partners and affiliates, their respective advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability arising from the acceptance of the prize as awarded. The Union-Tribune Publishing Company and the SignOn San Diego are not responsible for lost or stolen prizes. All prizes are non-refundable or exchangeable and cash substitutions are not permitted. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited. The Union-Tribune and the SignOn San Diego make no warranty with respect to any prize and reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal of greater value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries.
ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible, the current age of the child in the picture must be within the same category in which the photo was entered (Newborn to 2 Years Old, or 3 to 5 Years Old), as of the beginning date of the contest (May 30, 2010).
All contestants must be 18 years of age or older to enter and to win, and must show a valid driver's license or picture ID. Participants must fill-in all contact information to be eligible to win. Employees of the Union-Tribune Media Company and the SignOn San Diego, agents, representatives, affiliates, and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. The Union-Tribune shall be the sole judge of eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason. If it is discovered that the winner has committed fraud in obtaining the prizes, the prizes must be returned immediately to the Union Tribune. Winners agree to allow use of their name and photos by the Union-Tribune and SignOn San Diego without further compensation. The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited. Only residents of the State of California are eligible to win. In fairness to all, the Union-Tribune cannot discuss the contest by phone, mail or in any other way with the contestants.
OTHER CONDITIONS
The Union-Tribune reserves the right to change, modify, or extend contest dates if it should be deemed necessary. The Union-Tribune reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest at any time. The Union-Tribune assumes no responsibility for injury or loss that may arise from participation in the contest. The Union-Tribune assumes no responsibility for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. The Union-Tribune reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest, in its entirety or in part should virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond the Union-Tribune's control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the contest. The Union-Tribune is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with, or utilized in the contest by any technical or human errors that may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest. The Union-Tribune reserves the right to withdraw the transmission of this contest at any time and award the prize from among eligible entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal. The Union-Tribune reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game or website or to be acting in violation of the official rules.
