OFFICIAL RULES - To enter this contest, send your prediction for the rainfall total at Lindbergh Field for the 2011-12 rainfall year, which ends June 30, 2012, to rob.krier@uniontrib.com, or via mail to Robert Krier, Precipitation Prediction Contest, The San Diego Union-Tribune, P.O. Box 120191, San Diego, CA 92112-0191. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m., Oct. 31. The winner will be the person who comes closest to predicting the actual rainfall total, either over or under. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the person who comes closest to pinpointing the wettest calendar day of the season. One entry per person.
PRIZES - The winner will receive Four (4) two-day adult lift tickets at Brian Head Resort, Utah, for the 2012-2013 season, plus a two-night stay at the Cedar Breaks Lodge in Brian Head, Utah.
ELIGIBILITY - All contestants must be 18 years of age or older and must have a valid driver's license or picture ID. Employees of the Union-Tribune Publishing Company and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. The Union-Tribune shall be the sole judge of eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason. Winners agree to allow use of name and photos by the Union-Tribune without further compensation. The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited.
OTHER CONDITIONS - The Union-Tribune reserves the right to change, modify, or extend contest dates if it should be deemed necessary. The Union-Tribune reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest at any time. The Union-Tribune assumes no responsibility for injury or loss that may arise from participation in the contest. The Union-Tribune assumes no responsibility for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. The Union-Tribune reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest, in its entirety or in part should virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond the Union-Tribune's control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the contest. The Union-Tribune is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest by any technical or human errors, which may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest. The Union-Tribune reserves the right to withdraw the transmission of this contest at any time and award the prize from among eligible entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal. The Union-Tribune reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game or website or to be acting in violation of the official rules.
