U-T Summer of Fun Sweepstakes Finalist Rules

One (1) Super Grand Prize winner will be able to choose from one of four automobiles from Frank Motors values up to $25,000 MSRP. The winner will be able to choose from a 2013 Toyota Camry LE, 2014 Scion tC, 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0i Premium CVT, or a 2013 Hyundai Tucson GLS at the event that will take place on September 15, 2013 located at Frank Toyota 2400 National City Blvd, National City between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Qualifiers will be randomly chosen from all entries received from the beginning of the Promotional Period through September 5th, 2013. One hundred (100) people will be randomly chosen by September 10, 2013, to qualify for the Super Grand Prize and will be notified via email and phone that they are one of the 100 qualifiers.  Qualifiers must be present at the event to participate in final drawing and must bring I.D. in the form of a valid Californian State Driver’s License or Passport and must be a resident of San Diego County.

Qualifiers must be present to win Super Grand Prize random drawing at Frank Motors Toyota and check-in by 1:30 PM.  The name of the person randomly chosen must be present at the event.  You cannot send a different person to represent you as one of the 100 qualifiers.

Twelve (12) of the one hundred (100) qualifiers will be randomly chosen as finalists to win the Super Grand Prize. 12 finalists names will be randomly chosen to dictate the order in which the 12 finalists chose a key and see if it unlocks the featured car. Only one key will unlock the featured car.

Vehicle will be a new and unused current model automatic transmission with all of the STD Manufacturers Options. Winner has the option to upgrade vehicle and pay Frank Motors for any differences in price and fees. Winner will be registered at Frank Motors and will receive all Owner and factory communications as a regular client.

• Provide adequate State required Insurance coverage prior to delivery,
• Sign and accept all terms of the State of California retail agreement.
• Pay all taxes due, accept and acknowledge that he or she will receive a 1099 for the actual cost of the vehicle.
• DMV License fees and Documentation fees will be paid by the U-T San Diego

U-T Summer of Fun Sweepstakes

1.  NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  PURCHASES OF ANY KIND WILL NOT ENHANCE CHANCES OF WINNING.  ALL WINNERS ARE CHOSEN RANDOMLY FROM ALL ENTRIES RECEIVED. Open and offered only to legal residents of San Diego, California, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.  Employees, officers and directors of U-T TV, U-T San Diego  (“Official Sponsor and Administrator”) and their parent entities, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion, or production agencies, any companies who are performing work for U-T TV and its participating sponsors at U-T TV & U-T San Diego request, and Web masters / Web suppliers (and each of their respective IRS dependents, immediate family members [children, spouse, parents, siblings] and individuals residing in the same household of each, whether or not related) are not eligible to participate.  Void where prohibited by law.  By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Official Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to U-T Summer of Fun Sweepstakes.

2.      ENTRY PERIODS:  Sweepstakes begins 12:01:01 A. M. Pacific Standard Time on May 31, 2013, and ends 12:00:00 P.M. PST on September 5, 2013 (“Promotional Period”).  There shall be at least twelve (12) daily random drawings during the U-T Summer of Fun giveaway drawing periods (“Drawing Periods”) during the Promotional Period, Monday through Friday.

3.      WAYS TO ENTER:
All contestants must be registered to win online at www.utsandiego.com/fun or by US Postal Mail. Only residents of San Diego County who are 18 years of age or older and can show a valid driver’s license or government issued picture ID. You must complete all contact information to be eligible to win. You may submit one entry during the Promotional Period. You may also receive an additional entry for each referral you make via Facebook, Twitter or email using the unique referral link provided to you after making your entry. Referrals must successfully enter the contest for you to receive an additional entry.

A)  Online entries may be made at www.utsandiego.com/fun.  Follow the online instructions on the website for entering.  Entrant will be required to enter his/her name, zip code, daytime phone number and e-mail address to register for the contest and then must successfully complete instructions on Register to Win page of contest to receive one (1) U-T Summer of Fun Sweepstakes entry. Online entries must be received by the listed start and end dates of the U-T Summer of Fun contest.

B)  Entries by Postal Mail: Mail your full name, zip code, daytime phone number and email address to: U-T Summer of Fun, 350 Camino de La Reina, San Diego, CA 92108-3090. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Aug. 28, 2013, to be eligible for entry into the Drawing Period. For purposes of these Official Rules, Saturday, Sunday, and postal holidays will not be considered business days.  No copies, facsimiles or mechanical reproductions will be accepted.  Official Cutoff Date/Time: All mail-in entries must be received by no later than August 28, 2013, 5PM PST. No entries received after the Official Cutoff Date/Time will be eligible.

Limit one (1) entry per person/e-mail address/postal address per Promotional Period (regardless of method of entry).  Any attempt by any person to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different e-mail accounts or any other methods will void all of that person’s entries and that person will be disqualified.  All entries are subject to verification.  Any form of entry not stated in these Official Rules is void.

4.  DRAWINGS:  Winners will be chosen randomly by U-T San Diego from all eligible submissions, and entrants’ names and city/area of residence will be announced and shown live during the times listed below on U-T TV by visiting www.uttv.com or watching COX channel 114 or AT&T U-verse 17/1017HD. All decisions by U-T San Diego are final and binding in all matters related to this Sweepstakes. Schedule is subject to change at U-T San Diego's discretion.

If your name appears on the screen, you have until 7 a.m. the following day to call 619-293-2222 to claim your prize.

Twelve (12) winners will be announced on U-T TV each week day from June 27, 2013, through September 6, 2013. All 12 winners will be announced around the following times: 

7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.

4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

5.    PRIZES/ODDS:  From June 27, 2013, through September 6, 2013, there will be up to 1,250 total winners announced in which winners will receive one of the following prizes:

Six hundred twenty-four (624) weekday Daily Prizes drawings ($100-$150 value for each) for various prizes will include gas cards, American Express cards, dining certificates, movie certificates, spa certificates and fitness certificates. Twelve (12) names will be randomly chosen for Daily Prizes from all entrants each weekday from June 27, 2013, through September 6, 2013.  Fifty-two (52) prizes for one (1) two-night staycation trip for up to 4 people including hotel accommodations and a $100 gas (up to $350 value) card will replace the daily prize each weekday drawing at 7:15 p.m.  during the Promotional Period.  Each Thursday the 7:15 p.m. drawing will be one (1) four-night trip for 2 to Las Vegas including airfare and hotel accommodations (up to $2000 value).  Each of the daily prizes will be randomly chosen the Wednesday before the following week’s winner announcements.

One (1) Grand Prize drawing of a trip for up to 4 people to Hawaii for 7 days/6 nights including airfare and accommodations ($4,000 value) or Orlando, Florida, will take place on or around July 27, 2013.  Twenty-five (25) people will be randomly chosen on or around July 22, 2013, to qualify for the Grand Prize, which will be awarded live on U-T TV July 26.  Qualifiers will be randomly chosen from all entries received from the beginning of the Promotional Period through July 22, 2013.

One (1) Grand Prize drawing for a 14-piece living room set valued at about $998.99 from Ashley Furniture Homestore will take place on Aug. 22, 2013.

One (1) Grand Prize drawing for a 12-piece bedroom set valued at $998.99  from Ashley Furniture Homestore will take place on Aug. 29, 2013. Prize values may change without notice.

One (1) person will be randomly chosen at the event on September 15, 2013, through a separate, in-person drawing.

For tax reporting purposes, winners will be required to provide legal name, address and social security number or forfeit prize. U-T San Diego is not responsible for lost or stolen prizes. All prizes are non-refundable or exchangeable and cash substitutions are not permitted. U-T San Diego makes no warranty with respect to any prize and reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal of greater value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries.

6.      CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: UT San Diego reserves the right to change, modify or extend contest dates or submission requirements if it should be deemed necessary. UT San Diego reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest at any time. UT San Diego assumes no responsibility for injury or loss that may arise from participation in the contest. UT San Diego assumes no responsibility for computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. UT San Diego reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest, in its entirety or in part should virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond UT San Diego's control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the contest. UT San Diego is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest by any technical or human errors, which may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest. UT San Diego shall be the sole judge of eligibility and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason. Winners agree to allow use of name and photos by UT San Diego without further compensation. The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited. In fairness to all, UT San Diego cannot discuss the contest by phone, mail or in any other way with the contestants. A single contest may be run on multiple platforms, including our website, tablets, smartphones and Facebook. Odds of winning are the same across platforms. Liking our or our partners’ Facebook Pages does not increase chances of winning.

Prize winners will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within seven (7) days of attempted notification. If documents are not returned on a timely basis, or if prize notification or the prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited to U-T San Diego.
